Starter for Ryu

Approaching a tranquil dojo in a forest, Luke checks a photo on his phone. This definitely seemed like the place, right...? Sakura petals fall around the area. A clear sign that Spring has arrived.

"You should see in the winter. All the snow"

He would nod. "Alright. What about we move out a bit further?"

[sandblastbrawler]

"Sure! Lead the way! Fighting you is fun no matter where we are!"

Now clearly excited, Luke cracks his knuckles.

[ryuwanders]

"Heh, I can admire that drive" Ryu admits as they begin their brief hike away from where he had arrived prior.

"Does anyone know you're out this far?"

[sandblastbrawler]

"I called Ken before I left the states. He didn't answer, so I left a message. Have... You heard from him lately? I know you two are close, and all."

He's following behind Ryu closely as they walk, making sure to keep a stable footing on the terrain.

[ryuwanders]

A thoughtful him as they maneuver through the bright greens. Flashes of the sun peek through the trees.

"Maybe about...three weeks ago? He was leaving for a local state tournament and then him and his family were going on vacation"

[sandblastbrawler]

"I see... As long as he's okay! I owe him a spar, too. Well, after I play video games with his son again. I promised Mel that I'd squad up with him on Fortnite again."

A sheepish chuckle as he peers ahead.

[ryuwanders]

A chuckle. "I see. Very popular game. Some of us were asked to guest appear" He'd rub the back of his head in thought.

"Mel has an...interesting outlook on things. He's a good kid though"

"Isn't it?! Wish they'd ask me, too."

Luke smiles, nudging Ryu's arm with an elbow. "He actually mentioned you last time we talked! Said he hopes to find a best friend like you someday. I said I was right there! Hahaha!"

He brushes some greenery out of his way as they walk.

[ryuwanders]

"There's always a chance they may seek you out"

A glance at him with a wide grin. "Ha, exactly. Anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend"

They finally come to a clearing with a waterfall across the way. Several birds of vibrant colors fly past them.

Luke's cheek flush at the compliment, before he's quickly distracted by the beautiful clearing they come across. His eyes go wide in amazement, and the fighter's lips curl into a bright smile.

"Whoa! This place is beautiful...! And you're living this close to it?!"

[ryuwanders]

A small chuckle.

"I got lucky, didn't I?" Taking a deep breath in before his eyes close.

"Take a moment, and then we'll begin again. Alright?"

[sandblastbrawler]

Luke playfully gives Ryu a salute. "Yes, Sir!"

He breaks into a laugh and lightly jabs the other man's shoulder. "Hahaha! You got it! Thanks to agreeing to help me, Ryu. I'm really glad I made the trip out here."

[ryuwanders]

"I should be thanking you for coming out here" a mildly soft tone in his voice.

"This is...nice" Ryu admits.

His headband catching the breeze.

Luke watches the wind catching the other man, finding himself staring after a moment. His cheeks quickly flush as he catches himself, glancing away to try and fight the redness from his face.

"Y-Yeah... It is! Maybe I should stay for a while. I haven't had a proper vacation in ages."

[ryuwanders]

"I wouldn't mind" replying bluntly.

"It could be a nice experience for the both of us. I don't think we've had some time away together much. Bounce ideas off each other, spar, and who knows what else" a small shrug.

[sandblastbrawler]

Luke blinked in response. Was it really that easy...? "Huh...! Alright then! Let's do it! I'll call home after we finish here. I'm sure my stand in at the gym won't mind running the place for a bit longer."

Luke offers a fist bump. "In the meantime, let's get back to work. The more we spar, the more I learn about my strengths and weaknesses. I can learn even more about you, too."

[ryuwanders]

Nodding. "Excellent" his fist tapping the other's. Ryu would be sure to make his visit worthwhile.

He'd take a stance and wave him foward. "True. The key is to get as familiar as you can without getting lax or over-confident"

Taking Ryu's advice to heart, Luke takes caution as he debates on the angle to attack Ryu from. He eventually rushes forward, using his momentum to aim a swift kick towards the other man's legs!

[ryuwanders]

A crouch when the kick connects, making him scoot back before he pushed his body forward to carry momentum into a punch

While not surprised by Ryu's retaliation, Luke is surprised by how aggressive the punch is!

"W-Whoa...!"

He raises his arms to guard, visibly stumbling back when the fist connects.

[ryuwanders]

A step forward and another fist sailing through the air toward him!

"Don't hold back!"

[sandblastbrawler]

The fist collides with his face, knocking Luke back and staggering him a bit. He quickly glances towards Ryu with a grin, swinging a right hook of his own shortly afterwards!

"Wouldn't dream of it!"

[ryuwanders]

The hook sends him off his feet and staggering some--leaving him still open for another hit

"Gotcha!"

Luke rears his fist back before throwing it forward with a blast of energy!

[ryuwanders]

"Mph!" Ryu was knocked back quite a ways, he lands on his feet roughly before a lunge forward.

His hands cupped as energy gathers into a flashing orb as he brought his hands forward "Hadouken!!"
